About

THAW is an InterArts Virtual Production that brings together live music, dance and virtual environments to tell the story of our melting glaciers and ice caps.

Motivated by our shared experience at the Full Circle Climate Communication Workshop in January 2025, THAW seeks to bring awareness to the beauty and fragility of Earth's ice.

I led the development of the virtual environment that evolves over the 12 minute performance. We begin the performance in a snowy polar night, slowly large glaciers and ice bergs begin to form and emerge out of the landscape. The Polar night transitions into a brilliant endless day that celebrates the beauty, immensity, and majesty of the glaciers. At the end of the piece a torrential rainstorm melts away the ice caps leaving nothing but barren rock.
